Sportsmobile Texas – If you are considering a Sportsmobile RV conversion, it would be very prudent for you to contact me in regards to the pricing of the van part of their conversion. I can guarantee that I will sell the Nissan NV to you for less than what Sportsmobile will charge for the same van. You can still get your conversion done by Sportsmobile, but before you buy let me give you a quote on the van first.

Unfortunatly I don’t have sources outside Texas. What type of conversion are you looking for, RV, passenger, let me know what you plan to do and let me do some looking for you.

We are looking at buying a cargo 170 wheel base. My wife shows dogs and we need to cool the rear part of the cargo area. We have talked with dealers and can install factory air for about 5k. It seems a little much. So maybe a roof air with generator might be better. We would be able to also have a shoreline. So we are trying to find someone in Idaho or Utah that could do the install.
We are trying to buy a sprinter van for rapid HIV testing. Do you know of any conversion company in the MIami/Fort-Lauderdale area (Florida)?

I don’t know of anyone in the Florida area. I do know that you can talk with Jeff at Gulf Coast Conversions in Houston. He has built similar vans for other companies. I will supply the Sprinter van to him, he will do the conversion, you will purchase the completed van with conversion from us, and either fly to Houston to pick it up or we can get it shipped to you.

Thank you for your response Dave. In case we pursue a scenario like the one you describe, considering that we are based in Miami FL, how do we go about:
1- Service/vehicle repairs: Can we bring it to any local Benz dealer although we purchased from you?
2- conversion/body repairs: are we on our own once Jeff has delivered? Does he have any local affiliations?
Your Mercedes factory warranty is good at any MB Sprinter dealer in the USA. Same with service, you can take it to the local MB Sprinter dealer or do it yourself.
Usually conversions like this don’t have many issues that would require the conversion shop to do repairs, but it would need to be done through the Houston company unless they pay a local person in your area to take care of something. Usually if it works when you take it will continue to work afterwards. Have you a plan for what you want in the van in regards to the conversion? I have used this company twice – they are located in OHIO but you can ship your van for converstion . They have a few self build in stock ready to go.
